  • I really don't think that the comparison between the 2004 elections and the 2008 elections work. In the 2004 elections the republicans only really gained 3 seats in the house, and only 4 seats in the senate.

  • My thinking was, "who would provide better material for Jon Stewart"........ Nothing would beat a Palin/Perry ticket. Her husband was a member of the Alaskan independence party, think of the conversations he and Perry would have. Oh the grafts, I am getting giddy just thinking about it.

  • kls illine- Howard Dean became the DNC chairman in Feb of 2005, right after the inauguration of bush. He was the pioneer of the 50 state strategy which directly lead to the 2006 seat pick up. Even though he was not embraced by every member of the party, as far as leaders go he was rocking.

  • after the 2004 election Howard Dean came up as the DNC chair, he was a pretty damn good leader of the dem party. It was his plans that contributed to the 2006 seat pick up. Not to mention the was he revolutionized the DNC fundraising abilities.

  • Honestly I don't see a leader anywhere in the rep party. You have to have a solid platform first, something to lead from. Rush doesn't have any ideas of his own, all he does is ridicule everyone else.
